Warnemünde. The weather is hot. You’re dandering along the boulevard ”Alter Strom”, the smell of fish and the yelling of the gulls everywhere around you. You’re trying to overcome an interior heatwave, wishing for a refrigerant snack.
But what’s that?! Suddenly your walk seems to be interrupted. A giant queue of people from children to grandparents makes it difficult to pass. You’re getting curious, wondering what they are waiting for. I can tell you what they want – ice cream! In all likelihood they’re waiting at the ”Dänisches Eisparadies” (”Danish paradise of ice cream”).
Why? Simply because their ice cream is great. I’ve never experienced a day without a queue. Okay, back to the situation. You also queue up. After a few minutes you reach the counter. You see different sorts of ice cream, but I recommend you to choose soft ice in a waffle. If you do so, pick a topping. There are several toppings; sprinkles and sauces. Coloured sprinkles, liquorice sprinkles (!!), brittle, strawberry sauce, … or allow your ice cream a sun hat made of chocolate. Whatever you choose – you’ll like it! For sundae aficionados there are also some fruity and chocolatey options.
And don’t forget to snatch up a napkin. The heat of the sun might shorten your ice cream’s life faster than you’re able to destroy its perfect shape for the first time with your tongue.
