Swimming like a Fish

If the Baltic Sea is too cold for you, then try one of the indoor swimming pools here in Rostock!

An inexpensive opportunity to swim indoors is provided by the Neptunhalle close to the DKB-Arena

(soccer stadium). It only costs 5€ per 1,5 h for an adult and 2,50€ for children, students, and disabled people.

On the 25-meter lane, you can practise your swimming skills for the summer season.

It is generally crowed and it is not that enjoyable to swim here. For a little exercise. you might find it acceptable, though.

  1. I wanted to go to the Neptum Schwimmhalle yesterday, but unfortunately it was closed 🙁 But I’ll try to go there on “Sanday” (;))so that I can get an impression of the Neptun Schwimmhalle myself. Thanks a lot for the opening hours =)

  2. Thanks a lot for the information! I searched for an indoor swimming pool this week, nice to know now where to go.
The only problem I have with this post is the layout. Somehow confusing with the opening hours table for Neptunhalle and the paragraph about the Schwimmhalle Gehlsdorf. Maybe you could change the order, so it’s less confusing. 😉

  3. The “Neptunhalle” is not that great for swimming and on top of that the opening hours are just awful. Whenever I have time it’s closed for the public. I haven’t tried the one in Gehlsdorf, but the opening hours look much better. 🙂
Oh and I agree with Juliane on the confusing layout (not that I’d know how to change stuff like that).

  4. I always prefer swimming in the Baltic Sea in summer. There is nothing comparable with the feeling of swimming in the open sea. But there is a huge problem. What to do the rest of the year? The Neptunhalle is a great opportunity to shirk bad and cold weather. Unfortunately, the Neptunhalle has some stupid opening hours and is not up-to-date anymore. But for everyone who is addicted to swimming can use the Neptunhalle as a good alternative for the awesome Baltic Sea…
